Franconia is an international variety of vine with black berry. Its origin is not well known but it arrived surely in Italy and in Friuli at the beginning of 1900, during the Habsburg dominion.

In this region it has met the needs of winemakers probably for its early ripening and its particular characteristics of red wine.

VINIFICATION:maceration on the skins for 4 days, fermentation at controlled temperature. Soft pressing
TRAINING SYSTEM:guyot, cappuccina
COLOUR:ruby red
FRAGRANCE:intense, fine, with fresh fruity and floral notes. The notes are also spicy and it has got light mineral scents.
TASTE:sweet wine, soft, with an elegant tannin, rather savoury
MATCHES WITH FOODS:it easy to match it with first courses. It pairs well with cold cuts, but also with baked poultry or roasted duck breast. An original peculiarity is the match with pizza
