Ronco di Canova

DOP FRIULI COLLI ORIENTALI

It is a blend of grapes of Merlot and Refosco. After the fermentation in steel barrels, it is aged for 14-16 months in oak barriques.

This blend of grapes takes its name from the so-called “ronco”, “hill”, which belonged historically to the Canova family. Result of an accurate selection, this blend of grapes is obtained by noble grapes produced by vine varieties which are over seventy years old.

After the vinification, the produced full of substances bunches give a great olfactory and flavour patrimony and express their best in the glass giving an important wine.

VINIFICATION:maceration on the skins for 8 days, fermentation in steel barrels at controlled temperature. Soft pressing. Aging in oaks barrels
TRANING SYSTEM:guyot, cappuccina.
COLOUR:ntense ruby red with violet reflections which diminish with ageing
FRAGRANCE:rich, intense, winy, complex, with different shades which are immediately perceptible. The notes are remarkable and remind fruits of bushes blended by toasted scents, warmer and stronger thanks to the aging in oaks.
TASTE:strong, dry, full-bodied, well structured. The tannins and the acidity blend in order to give a well balanced wine. The aging in wood barrels give surely softness to the rough tannins and a boisè all to discover.
MATCHES WITH FOODS:it is a meditation wine. It pairs well with second courses as fatty meats, poultry or feathered game.
